π Sharp container design
Sharp container is a traditional products. Which doesn’t require to renew the design year by year. As the buyer is hospital, normally not need to make modern designs. However we can make little changes based on the samples available in the market.
π Sharp container mould design
1.5L sharp container mould, 4 cavity, hot runner, strip plate + air ejection. Products can be ejected from mould automatically.
5L sharp container mould with 2 cavity and 10L sharp container mould designed with 1 cavity. Both moulds with hot runner system. Same as 1.5L sharp container mould, they are with strip plate and air ejection also.
3 hydro-cylinders was applicated on 1.5L sharp container lid mould. One used to drive the big slider, the other 2 used to return the ejection plate. Mechanical double ejection can not be designed in this mould, as mould height can not exceed client’s injection machine maximum mould height.
One cavity design for 5L container lid mould, same as the 1.5L sharp container mould. Mould structure decide this.
All the sharp container moulds, include sharp container lid moulds, required injection molded parts full automatically drop mould.
However, lid mould with many angle ejector pins. The worse the mould height is limited due to client’s injection machine size limit. So mould can not be designed with high height, this means can not directly use ejection from injection machine to provide double injection. With this situation, mould designed with gas spring to provide the first ejection. Another point, mould without spring to return the ejector plates, hydro-cylinders applicated to return the ejector plates.
Most sharp container available in the market without handle. These new sharp container designed with handles according customer’s request. With such design, sharp container handily carry by nurse. This change is wonderful.
Lid door is used to avoild the discarded sharp and syringe out of the container. This is a perfect design.
π Sharp container mould machining
The main machining process include: CNC milling tooling, CNC engraving tooling, EDM, deep hole drilling, etc.
πSharp container moulds test
Mould with 4 cavities, hot runner. Ejector include: strip plate and air cylinder. Air cylinder is a small one, can hide inside the core of the container and not affect the cooling effect.
5L sharp container mould is 2 cavity, hot runner. Same reason as the 1.5L sharp container mould. Can not demould the sharp container from mould automatically only by strip only. So use the air cylinder inside the mould. The advantage of the air cylinder is that this equipment can provide much higher ejection force than air ejector pins. But its volume is much bigger than air ejector pins, only can use air cylinders in the big mould, and can not affect the cooling.
10L sharp container mould, 1 cavity, hot runner. Mould core and cavity P20H steel, and mould base 45# steel.
π Sharp container handle mould test
5L and 10L sharp container is designed with handle. This is one change which different with original sample. The purpose is for convenient carrying sharp containers. 5L sharp container handle mould, designed with 4 cavity, 2 points hot sprue.
π Sharp container cover mould
1.5L sharp container cover mould, 1 cavity, hot runner. This cover is small, and undercut not so big. So 1.5L cover can be demoulded by air ejector after strip plate release the cover from core. However, 5L and 10L sharp container cover mould with big and much more quantity undercut angle pins, so they can not be ejected out of mould by air ejector pins.
5L sharp container cover mould, 1 cavity, hot runner, P20H steel. Due to mould include many angle blocks, cover can not be ejected out off mould by air ejector, so we suggest client to use robot to pick the cover from mold. The robot supplier checked on the mold, when we testing mould, if robot can pick the cover from mold or not. The result is that cover can be picked by robot from mold.
Sharp lid mould is most difficult mould for the sharp container mould project. The robot applied to pick the lid parts, make the demould simple and high efficient.
