There are two type of cable ties. One is straight tail cable ties, another one is angled tail cable ties. Due to angled tail need insert on the mould, so angled tail cable tie moulds cost is higher than straight tail cable tie moulds.
Cable tie mould can be made with standard mould base and factory self-made mould base. But standard mould base cable tie mould price is higher than factory self-made mould base cable tie mould, so most of the orders is for self-made mould base. The first picture in this pag is the standard mould base cable tie mould.
There are some sizes of cable ties are popular sales in the market. For example, 1.8x100mm, 2.5x150mm, 2.5x200mm, 3x250mm, 3x300mm, etc.
1.8x100mm 120 cavities; 2.5x150mm 72 cavities, 2.5x200mm 56 cavities; 3x250mm 32 cavities; 3x300mm 24cavities. All the moulds cavity number is according customer’s injection machine specification.
Usually use Cr12MoV as cable tie mould core plate and cavity plate steel material, and the lock inserts use skd61. Some customer require H13 steel as core plate and cavity plate, we can use H13 to make the mould, but for cable tie mould, Cr12MoV is better. Due to this steel after vacuum quenching hardening treatment, its hardness is higher than H13. Another hand, H13 steel hardness is not high enough for cable ties. This is the reason that we choose Cr12MoV.

- Material Ratio Some size only for reference first 1.8*100/2.2*100/2.2*150 PA66: 70% +PA6: 5%+ recycle material: 20%+white oil or demolding material5% 2.5×150/2.5×200/3*200 PA66: 70% +PA6: 5%+ recycle material: 20%+white oil or demolding material 5% 3*250/3.6×250/3.6×300 PA66: 65%+ PA6: 8%+ recycle material: 25%+white oil or demolding material 5% 4.8×350/4.8×400/4.8×450 PA66 65%+ PA6: 8%+recycle material: 25%+white oil or demolding material 5% But for white oil please note that : 25kgs material add aroun 30 to 50ML .
- Raw material ratio from another customer also for your reference: Main material PA66, mix with PA6: 5-10% recycle material 5-20% white oil+demolding material Note: too much recycle material will make cable tie easy to break. You have to keep trying different proportion to reach your ideal state. (the cable size is only for your reference ,we only give this for your reference ,so you also need to calculate it by yourself ) Mix with some white oil and demolding powder will be easy for demoulding (Oil is better for demoulding when production ) Oil picture shown before picture shown,Suggest you could buy this kind of oil in your own city ,this oil just like the sewing machine oil and some CNC machining Oil.
