Pet crate mould

Pet crate used to carry the pet out of the house. So its space have to be big and make the pet stay inside comfortable. As a professional pet products mould factory, we have made lots of different design pet crate moulds. Client can choose the crate design from us or provide their own design and samples. In a word, cooperated with a mould expert, can make job much simple.

If pet crate sample provided by client, we will need to scan the sample and then make the 3D design according the scan data. By this way, we can make sure the copy design same with original sample. However some original sample have shrink problem which sample is different with orginal drawing before of the shrink. So this need a rich experience engineer to judge it and correct it.

3D part design

The 3D part design was made according pet crate sample, and make a little change. After the change, the crate have new function.

According client requirement, we made some change on the design. After the modification, the pet crate can be tighted and fixed on the vehicle seat, airplane, etc. And design become more advantage compare with the old one.

Let’s view the pet crate mould design

Taizhou Xiongshi Plastic Mould Co., Ltd have professional mould design team to make sure every set mould designed with good mould structure to insure the mould running smoothly and long life. Choose cooperation with us, you choose the reliable.

Mould tooling.

After pet crate mould 3D design ready, we can go on the mould steel purchase. The mould steel supplier cut the steel and grind the steel to the sizes which we needed. We always send the steel purchasing list to supplier, then they can prepare the steels accordingly.

These moulds tooling process is normal, just the bottom part mould and cover part mould need some EDM tooling. So these two sets mould tooling cost is high, especial for the cover mould. Because cover mould have three big sliders, and two of them with lots bosses on them, so the cnc engraving time long and cost high.

CNC milling tooling is rough tooling.

Pet crate mould under high speed milling tooling

High speed milling tooling is a kind of fine machining. After this maching, there is no need to do the cnc engraving on the place already done the high speed milling tooling. And the mould tooled by high speed cnc milling tooling, mould surface finish is better than cnc engraving tooling.

The final process for pet crate moulds is mould testing.

Pet crate top part mould test

Top part of the pet crate mould need sliders from three sides. These sliders designed similar like the daily life used crate mould sliders design. As sliders don’t need move long distance, so they designed like the lifer.

Surface with texture finish. Looking good. Due to this part have so many holes and empty – opposite insertion structure, mould steel have to use high hardness steel, such as P20H, 718H, or even H13 for long life.

However with consideration that sales quantity is not large for this crate every year, mould steel with P20H is enough. Just not use 45# forging and tempering steel, as this steel hardness is not high enough for this part, will get flash after some shots of injection moulding.

Pet crate bottom part mould test

Pet crate bottom part mould also design with air ejector pins to finally eject the part out of mould. With this structure, this mould can be fully automatical running on the injection machine.

Part surface with same texture finish with top part, then after assembling the product appearance is whole same.

Pet crate small cover mould is to make small cover, then put the them to cover the small storage places.

Both side storage place can keep some food and some small tool, which is necessary for pet when out of home.

Pet crate handle mould

Pet crate handle use PP+30% GF plastic raw material. As this handle wall thickness is very thick, have to add some additive material, such as glass fiber,  talc, etc. in order to make the sink mark as small as possible.
