For export standard, plastic crate mould normally use P20H as the mould core and cavity steel, and mould base use 45# steel. But if you just start the plastic injection moulding business and have limit budget on the mould, you can choose 45# forging steel as the crate mould core and cavity steel to save the cost. Though the 45# forging steel mould life is shorter than made by P20H, it is enough good for the new comming entrepreneur.
In case the budget is high enough and need to use one set plastic crate mould to produce more than 700,000 pieces plastic crates. Then suggest to choose 718H, another mould steel, which steel quality higher than P20H, to make the mould.
Injection crate mould can be made with cold runner and hot runner system. As a kind of daily life used mould, mould cost need to be economical, so most of client choose cold runner crate mould. However the crate size is very big, the mould have to use hot runner system for the good flow during injection.
Due to the crate design, crate mould need four sides sliders, then crate can be demoulded out of mould.
Four sides of crate have many ribs, they made in the four sliders. In this way, machining become simple and polish is easy.

Plastic crate mould can be designed with strip plate and without strip plate. Above mould test video showed the mould with strip plate. With strip plate, crate can be ejected and drop from mould automatically.

Our term design the mould with air cyclinders to assist the ejection and make the crate demould automatically. But strip plate design is running more stable. So crate mould with strip plate design should be the first choose.
